Ramadan Festival at Katara Begins Today

Doha, June 19 (QNA) - The Katara Ramadan Festival opens today under the theme: I'jaz wa Injaz "Wonders and Acheivements". A contest entitled " Find Your Treasure'', held for the second consecutive year, will begin today, the First Friday of Ramadan, and continue throughout the holy month. It offers the visitors a chance to win QR5,000 besides many surprise prizes in its Find Your Treasure series which was one of the biggest attractions in the last Ramadan activities. Anyone visiting Katara can take part in it. However visitors have to be there between 9pm-11pm every Friday during Ramadan. The participants will get a map of the entire cultural valley where the prize boxes are hidden at different spots. The participants will have to locate the boxes using the maps and then they would able to claim their prizes enclosed in the boxes. Maps will change every Friday. Events scheduled throughout the holy month includes a variety of workshops that begin at 08.00 pm at Building 19 and will continue until July 18.A group of leading Islamic preachers will give public lectures throughout the festival.(QNA)
