State Merited Chorus, Pride of Songun Korea

Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The State Merited Chorus and the Moranbong Band of the DPRK will soon pay a friendship visit to China. The State Merited Chorus, which emerged an elite chorus under the care of leader Kim Jong Il endowed with musical talents who regarded music as his life companion, is a pride of Songun Korea that has registered only victory and glory for many years along with songs of revolution. The army and people of the DPRK love the Chorus as a revolutionary group of singers imbuing the whole world with the soul of Paektu as it is full of vigor and optimism of the revolutionary army and it reflects the revolutionary spirit of Juche in each song. The powerful songs sung by the State Merited Chorus are just a vivid representation of the idea and faith of Songun Korea holding high the red flag. That's why the conductor of a noted foreign chorus said that the songs of the DPRK State Merited Chorus would help unify the world with the red flag. "Once, Westerners said that our chorus' performance occupied them without firing a single shot. Now, I am sure that the songs of the DPRK chorus can purify the whole world without firing a bullet," he added.
