Wake Up Poets at the alliance française

Manama, Nov. 14 (BNA): An evening of poetry in Arabic, English and French will be hosted by l'alliance française on Friday. The “Poetry Night” was initiated in 2015 by the Institute of the Arab World (IMA) in Paris. Artists from various backgrounds were invited to read poetry, play music, dance or present circus performances. Since last year, the cities of Khartoum, Beirut, Tunis, Fez, Jeddah, Doha and Riyadh made the event international by organising their own “Poetry Night”. The marvellous beauty of poetry will be enhanced again and Bahrain will be part of that chorus for one evening under the theme of “Wake up Poets”. The participants have answered a call to join in with diverse proposals centering around music, dances and poetry, and will perform on the stage of the alliance in Isa Town. Young poets will open the show at 5.30 and the adults will take over from 7.15 pm for a special evening of poetry.
