4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southwest China

CHENGDU (CHINA), May 17 (Bernama) -- An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit Shi Mian County in Ya’an City in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province at 4.46 pm Wednesday.

The epicentre of the quake was 141 km from Chengdu, the China Earthquake Network Centre said in a press release.

The statement said one-minute tremors were felt twice, with an interval of 29 seconds.

However, no casualties were reported.
