DEPUTY ENVIRONMENT MINISTER MEETS KYRGYZ DELEGATES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On July 26, Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism Ts.Batbayar met with Ulan Djusupov, Ambassador-at-Large of Kyrgyzstan, Chyngyz Kochorov, Global Snow Leopard & Ecosystem Protection Program Secretariat and Daniyar Ibragimov, Program Officer at the UNDP Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz delegates addressed the upcoming Snow Leopard Conservation Forum to be hosted by Kyrgyzstan on August 24–25 to which Mongolia’s President, Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Tourism are invited. “Mongolia has long attached importance to snow leopard conservation, and we will continue to”, said the Deputy Minister, expressing support to the international forum in snow leopard conservation. Deputy Environment Minister Ts.Batbayar also appreciated the Kyrgyz Government’s efforts, saying that Mongolia is ready to cooperate on snow leopard protection program. From Mongolian side, G.Nyamdavaa, Head of the Ministry’s Department of Environment and Natural Resources Management, B.Yuruult, Head of the Ministry’s Department of Climate Change and External Cooperation, Dr. B.Munkhtsog, senior researcher at the Institute of General and Experimental Biology at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and other officials were present at the meeting.
