Discussion held on increasing responsibility on improving waste management

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In the frameworks of the project, ‘Waste and Climate Change’, being co-implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Asia Foundation, a discussion was held under the theme, ‘Increasing the responsibility of manufacturers and importers in enhancing waste management’. Corresponding experts of aimags and districts attended the discussion. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the International Environmental Technology Center (UNEP-IETC) of UN Environment. The discussion was organized with the aims of enhancing waste management and economic regulation through informing the experts about possible ways to increase the responsibility of manufacturers and importers and discuss ways to improve the current national program on improvement of waste management.
