Firefighters Rescue Injured Python

KUANTAN (Pahang, Malaysia) April 20 (Bernama) – Firefighters from the Kuantan Fire and Rescue Department rescued an injured python weighing about 100 kilogrammes at the shooting range in Jalan Penor-Ubai here Thursday. The seven-metre-long snake, believed to have been hit by a vehicle, was handed over to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, said Kuantan Fire and Rescue Station chief Kamarul Bieza Mohamed Kassim. He said the firefighters found the snake by the side of the road after responding to a phone call at 2.13 am. They took almost an hour to catch the snake as it was huge and aggressive, he said. -- BERNAMA
