Hazy Conditions Still Persist In Singapore With Air Quality At Unhealthy Level

SINGAPORE, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- The current hazy condition persists in Singapore, with the air quality continuing to stay at an unhealthy level. The National Environment Agency (NEA) said the haze was blown in from Sumatra by the prevailing winds. As of 2pm Monday, the 24-hour pollutant standard index (PSI) stood at 117-145, and the three-hour PSI at 118. A 24-hour PSI reading of above 100 indicates unhealthy air quality. The current hazy conditions are expected to persist for the rest of Monday and Tuesday. The prevailing winds are forecasted to blow from the south or southwest, and the haze situation could deteriorate as the current unfavourable winds may blow in denser haze from Sumatra, Indonesia. --BERNAMA
