Iran attends FEG annual meeting

TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – A number of Iranian tourist guides visited the European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (FEG) and announced Iran’s readiness to host the 2017 Tourist Guides Convention. FEG was founded in 1986 in Paris to represent the profession at European level, to publicize and improve the quality of service offered to all visitors to Europe and to bring together and strengthen professional tourist guiding links across Europe, its website says. The federation’s annual meetings are held in member countries and the 2015 session was hosted by Moscow from 17-22 November. One of the meeting’s participants Mohsen Haji Saeed, who was heading a group of Iran Federation of Tourist Guides Associations (IFTGA), said: “We attended the conference to meet the European guides, answer questions on traveling to Iran and inviting the group to visit Iran in January 2017.” Iran will host the International Tourist Guides Convention in 2017 winning the bid with total 18 votes in a very close competition with Denmark and Singapore in the final round.
