Minister: Milan Expo 2015 an opportunity to showcase UAE's experience, achievements in sustainable development, food security

MILAN, 7th June 2015 (WAM) --- Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, stressed that the UAE's participation in the UAE Pavilion at Milan Expo 2015 provides the country with an opportunity to showcase its experience and achievements in sustainable development and food security, among other fields, and promote it hosting of Expo 2020 Dubai. In statements to WAM Friday as he toured the UAE Pavilion in Milan Expo 2015, the minister said the UAE pavilion represents an open invitation to the visitors to learn about a part of what they are expected to see at Expo 2020 Dubai. "This is just a small part of what Dubai will offer as it has advanced infrastructure that can accommodate a global event like Expo where 70 percent of the visitors are expected to be international." Bin Fahad also noted that the UAE's participation in international events reflects the positive spirit of its men and women as well as their determination to face natural challenges and adversities and create opportunities for life. He added, "The UAE follows an unwavering policy of opening up to the outside world, backing teamwork, supporting all efforts that serve humanity and participating in all events that contribute towards the achievement of these goals. This is a fixed principle established by the founding father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is being followed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum."
