Moderate Earthquake Hits Ryukyu Islands Of Japan

KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) – A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, struck southeast of the Ryukyu Islands of Japan at 12.20 pm Wednesday, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department. It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 303 km southwest of Naha, Japan. The tremblor did not pose any tsunami threat, it added. -- BERNAMA
