Moderate Earthquake Strikes Nicobar Islands In India

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, occurred in the Nicobar Islands of India at 4.12 pm Monday, according to the Meteorological Department. It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 514km west of Langkawi, Malaysia's northern state of Kedah. The quake did not pose any tsunami threat, it said. -- BERNAMA
