Rezaei stresses importance of environment

Tehran, Nov 22, IRNA – Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei said Saturday that the EC has established a special board for making necessary policies on environment related issues. The committee is in charge of making necessary planning or policies to turn Iran into a major regional center for promotion of environment related issues, he noted, stressing that Tehran gives great priority to promotion of status of environmental issues in the country. Environment is a major national issue linked with national development, economy and security, Rezaei said, adding, therefore, all related bodies have to attach importance to the issue in their plannings. Protecting Iran's environment should become the top priority of both the people and government of Iran, said the EC secretary./end
