Russia offers help to learn coping with after-effects of climate change

BOGOTA, December 15. /TASS/. Visiting envoy of the Russian president Alexander Bedritsky, who supervises problems of climate change, declared that Russia might offer considerable help to developing countries in coping with after-effects of climate change. "I think our assistance to the developing countries should not be narrowed to mere contributions to the Green Climate Fund. We might also offer them our opportunities in education in related specialties," Bedritsky told TASS. The opportunities Russia has offered in education in climate-related specialties were presented during the 20th conference on climate change held in Lima which was attended by participants in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, he said. "We have good scientific teaching staff who study climate problems, including information needed for certain sectors of the economy or the so-called " applied climatology". No more than ten world countries have been developing related science, and Russia is one of the world leaders in concrete scientific research needed for electric power engineering, agriculture and other sectors of the economy," Bedritsky said.
