Severe storm kills five in Tehran

TEHRAN,June 3(MNA) – A powerful storm with winds of more than 110 kph hit Tehran on Monday, killing five and injuring at least 44 people. The people who were killed or injured had mostly been hit by falling trees or flying debris. The storm toppled many trees and traffic signs and caused temporary power cuts in some neighborhoods of the capital. Officials have announced that the storm may cause flight delays and cancellations at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport. Iran Meteorological Organization has also warned that severe storms will hit Tehran on Tuesday and Wednesday.
