Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed approves preparations for introducing oryx in Chad

ABU DHABI, 4th November 2015 (WAM) --- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi, on Tuesday approved preparations for introducing a herd of scimitar-horned oryx, extinct in the wild, back to their habitat in Chad in collaboration with the government of the African country. The programme aims to return the oryx to a natural reserve in Chad to increase its population. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's approval came during a meeting of the board of the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi at Al Nakheel Palace.
