Shiveluch volcano in Russia’s Far East spews ash to 12 km in air - KVERT

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, July 24. /TASS/. The Shiveluch volcano in Russia’s Far East has spewed ash to the height up to 12 km above the seal level, the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT) told TASS on Monday. "The Shiveluch volcano spewed ash early in the morning to the height up to 12 km above the seal level. The ash plume was carried northeastward 205 km away. The red hazard code was assigned to the volcano," No ash falls were registered in settlements, Russia’s Emercom for the Kamchatka Region said. The Shiveluch volcano is situated in the Ust-Kamchatka District. The nearest Klyuchi settlement is nearly 50 km away from the volcano foot. Read more
