Strong Earthquake Jolts Russia's Komandorskiye Ostrova Region

KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake of 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted Russia’s Komandorskiye Ostrova region at 10.18 am Wednesday. According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department’s statement, the earthquake occurred 494km northeast of Petropavlovsk Kamchatskiy, Russia. The earthquake, however, did not pose a threat to Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
