Strong Earthquake In Sulawesi, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck near Sulawesi, Indonesia at 12.09 pm Friday. According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake occurred at 78 kilometres northwest of Makassar, Indonesia, with a depth of 750 kilometres. The quake did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia, it said. -- BERNAMA
