Strong Quake Hits Java, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake , with a magnitude of 6.5 on the Richter scale hit Java, Indonesia, at 2.12 am Thursday (Feb 6). According to a statement by the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake occurred 125 kilometres (km) north of Surabaya at a depth of 600 km.
