Strong Quake Strikes Sumba Region In Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter Scale, hit the Sumba region in Indonesia at 8.16 am Tuesday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department reported. It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 293 km southeast of Bima, Indonesia. The quake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia, it added. -- BERNAMA
