Thailand’s lower north hit by flooding

KAMPAENG PHET, May 21 (TNA) -- The lower northern region of Thailand has been hit by floods, creating difficulties among local people. In Kampaeng Phet’s Phrankratai district, 10 villages have been inundated. The flooding caused damage to roads, making them inaccessible for small vehicles. Water supplies were also interrupted in some areas. Meanwhile, Sukhothai’s Khirimat district has been submerged under 30 to 60 centimeters of water. It was said to be the worst flooding in 15 years. People living in the area faced difficulties, and the flood water forced many shops to be closed. Local officials had workers erect an embankment of sandbags to prevent further flooding. (TNA)
