UAE participates in Regional Preparatory Meeting of Ramsar Convention on Wetlands Conference in Cambodia

SIEM REAP: The UAE is participating in the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 12th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP12) to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance to Asia, which is being held from November 3rd to 7th in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Dubai Municipality is participating in the meeting as part of the UAE delegation. The meeting was inaugurated by the Governor of Siem Reap City in the presence of the Cambodian Minister of Environment and representatives of various Asian countries, civil societies, governmental bodies, local and international organisations and non-profit organisations. The meeting presents an opportunity for countries to exchange ideas and experiences and to follow up on the progress made in implementing the Strategic Plan of the Ramsar Treaty in Asia, in addition to gathering input on the draft resolutions to be presented at COP12, which will be held in the city of Punta del Este in Uruguay in June 2015. - Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395271977386.html
