Capam Media Forum Aims To Create Sharing Platform

By Norshazlina Nor'azman PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) Media Forum 2014 that will kick off Tuesday, aims to examine 'up-and-coming' paradigms and innovative practices within the broader Commonwealth media realm. Chief Secretary to the Government Dr Ali Hamsa said the forum also aimed at creating a platform for sharing experiences and best practices used by the media in Commonwealth member states. "It will also serve as a medium to provide an opportunity for participants to interact through networking among Commonwealth countries, and media practitioners. "This is the first time that we are organising the CAPAM Media Forum, which carries a theme 'Engaging the Commonwealth'. We hope to attract 500 participants to the forum and media practitioners, members of academia and students are invited to attend," he said in an exclusive interview on Monday. The one-day forum will also explore contemporary and future issues in the print, electronic and new media industry. CAPAM Media Forum 2014 will be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), in conjunction with the three-day CAPAM 2014 biennial conference which will end Tuesday. The media forum is co-hosted by the Chief Secretary to the Government's Office and Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama). The Society of Editors, United Kingdom, member John Spencer, who is also Trustee of the CPU Media Trust (previously known as the Commonwealth Press Union), will be among the speakers of the media forum.
