Indonesian Couple Blessed With National Day Baby

By Nur Faradilla Mohammad MELAKA (Malaysia), Sept 1 (Bernama) -- As Malaysia celebrates its 59th National Day on Wednesday, an Indonesian couple is beaming with pride their baby has been born on this auspicious day. Tifani Petros, 32, and Sirilusnahak Felix, 25, welcomed their son weighing 2.75kg at the Melaka Hospital. She delivered the baby at 2.18am, making him the first National Day baby to be delivered at the hospital. Tifani regards her third child as a blessing and hopes he will bring a better life to the family in Malaysia after the couple migrated here last year. "I hope my child grows up to become somebody one day, for Indonesia and Malaysia," she told Bernama here on Wednesday. Earlier, Melaka Chief Minister Idris Haron and wife, Fadilah Abdullah, visited the couple and other National Day babies at the hospital. As of noon, a total of 12 National Day babies, including two girls, were born at the hospital. The 12th, a boy weighing 2.9 kg, was born at 10.33am. Tifani and her husband originated from Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia and have an eight-year-old son. She had a miscarriage during her second pregnancy, several years ago. "My heartfelt thanks to the hospital authorities, especially doctors who assisted me, and the chief minister and wife who visited me and handed over contributions to my family," said Tifani who works at a farm with her husband in Machap Baru, Alor Gajah near here. Meanwhile, the ecstasy of being blessed with a National Day baby was also shared by younger mother Nur Wahidah Shamsudin and husband, Amid Hamid, 34. The 21-year-old delivered her first baby, a girl, weighing 2.3kg at 5.32am. --BERNAMA
