Malaysians In Jakarta Celebrate Aidiladha At Embassy

By Azeman Ariffin JAKARTA, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- More than 500 Malaysians in this Indonesian capital city Friday celebrated Aidiladha at the Embassy of Malaysia in Kuningan, southern Jakarta, here. They comprised the staff of the embassy and their families, business people and university students, some of them turning up as early as 6.30 am. They performed the Aidiladha prayers led by Abang Zainal Abang Abidin, the religious officer at the mission. The ambassador, Zahrain Mohamed Hashim, said the people joined hands in the sacrificial slaughter of two cows and 20 goats and the cooking of food for lunch. The meat of the sacrificed animals was also distributed to the people who attended the event. -- BERNAMA
