Population census started in Kazakhstan

Astana, 25 February 2009, Khabar – The state conducts such a campaign once 10 years to receive exact statistical information. By January 1, 2009 about 15,5 million people live in our republic. During the population census every citizen must answer 45 questions about income, real estate, employment, education, languages’ speaking, computer knowledge and religion. All the information is protected by law and the stat guarantees their anonymity and confidentiality. Over 58 000 census takers will conduct the campaign and all of them had passed special training. Most census takers have already visited houses and got acquainted with people whom they will visit. To avoid cases of swindling, every census taker will have special equipment and clothes – special identity card, scarf and bag with logotypes of population census. Special stationary census areas are opened at railway stations and airports, auto stations and sea and river ports for those who can’t meet with census takers at home. Population census of 2009 will become the most exact and people can observe it at site of Agency on statistics www.stаt.kz, or having phoned to 8-800-080-78-28 and get answers for questions. Every Kazakhstani citizen must take part into population census the motto of which is “Everybody is important!” On the basis of results the state will make plans for future development of country. New workplaces will be created, houses, schools, kindergartens and schools will be built and new measures of social support will be taken after conducting of population census.
