Pos Malaysia To Launch International Definitive Series Stamp Collection

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia Berhad, the postal delivery service in Malaysia will issue the International Definitive Series stamp collection on Saturday in conjunction with its Stamp Week 2016. Its head of the Stamp and Philately Unit, Diyana Lean Abdullah, said the series would be available throughout the country on Oct 4, while states of Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu stamp collectors and fans can start buying them on Oct 3. "The series, totalling 650,000 pieces, will feature eight stamp denominations such as Celebrations (10sen), Local Fruits (20sen), Wildlife (50sen), Unity (RM1), Place of Worship (RM2), Our Nation (RM5), Flora (RM10) and Handicraft (RM20). "The series will showcase Malaysia's richness in cultural diversity, flora and fauna and arts and, most importantly, the unity of the nation," she told reporters here Wednesday. (US$1 = RM4.11) She said other philatelic products such as First Day Cover including a pamphlet will be sold at 55 sen, with the folder priced at US$1.54 (RM6.35) each and a full set of International Definitive Series priced at US$105.33 (RM433.70).
