Presentation of book “Mosques and madrasahs of Kazakhstan”
Almaty, September 10, 2009 (Khabar) - Book “Mosques and madrasahs of Kazakhstan” has been presented in Astana. Absattar haji Derbisali, Supreme mufti of the country and the author of the book says the book collected valuable historical facts about mosques and madrasahs that were built in Kazakhstan since 9th century. The chairman of Spiritual management of Kazakhstan’s Muslims has been collecting the material for several years and he used the archived of Kazakhstan, Russia, India, Pakistan and Iran. One chapter of the book is dedicated to the famous Kazakhstani figures of Islam.

- One of interesting facts is that the most ancient mosque of the country was discovered by the archeologists 2 years ago. It was built in 893 during early period of Islam. the mosque was reconstructed and nowadays this ancient mosque became the object of pilgrimage for many people who wish to touch the holy history.
