The super criminal of the century

TEHRAN,July 28(MNA) -- Over the past two weeks, Gaza has again become the scene of despicable atrocities committed by the super criminal of the century, Benjamin Netanyahu. The natural born killer was born in 1949, one year after the establishment of the cancerous regime of Israel. He received a degree in architecture before going to MIT, where he obtained an MBA. Then he studied at Harvard, where he received a Ph.D. in political science. However, he seems to have forgotten what he learned in the halls of academia when it comes to the killing of thousands of innocent civilians, including women and children. With his Ph.D. in political science, he must have some knowledge about the Fourth Geneva Convention, which clearly states that the rights of civilians should be protected in time of war. But apparently, Netanyahu seems to relish ignoring international law and international treaties. Of course, he is supposed to be using what he has learned in the field of architecture when he recklessly orders the expansion of illegal settlements. All Israeli officials are like Netanyahu in their dealings with the international community and their attitude toward international law. Richard Goldstone’s famous report on Israeli crimes, which was published in 2009 and detailed the acts of savagery and the broad range of atrocities committed by the apartheid regime, should have made the Israelis stop killing and torturing innocent Palestinians. But no one paid attention to the report, and now we are again witnessing massacres of children in Gaza. After conducting a comprehensive study in Gaza, Goldstone and his team detailed a small part of the crimes committed by Israel in their 574-page report. Their account clearly shows that war crimes were committed in Gaza in the 2008 war. In the war, which lasted for 22 days, 1400 Palestinians were killed, 300 of them children and 115 women. The Jewish chairman of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict at that time provided ample evidence of the heinous crimes committed by the Israeli hawks. However, none of the Israeli officials have faced justice for their shameful acts, which is a dark mark in history. Goldstone was even put under great pressure to retract his claims. The fact that the international community has always been silent about Israel’s aggression has actually encouraged the reckless Netanyahu and his war machine to kill more and more Palestinians. His awful record in killing innocent children over the years has made him the super criminal of the century. And the saddest thing is that the dimensions of the crimes committed by Israel in Gaza are constantly expanding. Israel committed all the four major crimes mentioned in the charter of the International Criminal Court (ICC): war crimes, the crime of aggression, crimes against humanity, and genocide. However, international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League, have all turned a blind eye to the blatant crimes committed against the Palestinian civilian population. They just condemn them or express their dissatisfaction about the situation. It is also extremely unfortunate that some Islamic governments have made the utmost efforts to protect the Israeli diplomatic staff and branches of Israeli companies in their territory against the wave of popular protests over the past two weeks. And all this is happening in the holy month of Ramadan, which is supposed to be a time of unity among Muslims to better counter the enemies, like the apartheid regime of Israel. Cutting diplomatic ties with Israel is the least the innocent people of Gaza can expect of those countries, which would inform the Zionist regime that it cannot spill the blood of women and children with impunity. Netanyahu, the super criminal of the century, seems to have not satiated his thirst for killing children, since he is planning more attacks on Gaza in the coming days. Maybe he is trying to break the records in butchering children of his predecessors, killers like Ehud Olmert and Ariel Sharon. (By Morad Enadi)
