“Altargana” festival to take place in Khentii aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The “Altargana” international festival of Burayt people will take place this July 18-21 in Dadal soum, Khentii aimag, under auspices of the PM of Mongolia. With aims to save culture, traditions, arts and sport kinds of the Buryats and to inherit them to next generations, the annual international festival will run this year for the 20th time. The festival’s first stage will run May 30 throughout provinces and city districts, a greater event will take place in Khentii. The organizers say that competitions called “One day of Buryats” of folklore and ethnic arts, folk and modern songs will be held within the festival. An exhibition of handicrafts will be mounted, and the “Daginas” beauty contest will be organized as well. The State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism P.Altangerel is working as a head of the festival’s organizing committee.
