“MONGOLIANS’ TRADITION TO PROTECT NATURE” SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE HELD

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Department of Historical Science at the Mongolian State University and “Tengeriin Khevter” NGO have organized a scientific conference themed “Mongolians’ Tradition to Protect Nature” with the support of the Khan Bank Foundation which has been making actual investments in the social well-being of the country and implementing various projects and programs aimed at environmental protection. The scientific conference aims to study Mongolia’s customs of protecting the environment in-depth and deliver eco-friendly approaches throughout the country. The conference attracted scientists, researchers and lecturers from the Department of History and Department of Asian Studies of the MSU, Institute of History and Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Department of Historical Science at the MSU and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). Various reports under the topics including Mongolians’ tradition to protect environment, laws, Mongolia’s ancient nomads and environment, historic climate and Mongolia at 1st and 2nd millennium BC, Mongolians’ knowledge of protecting nature today, and Mongolian and Japanese customs of preferring environment and its renovation have been presented during the conference.
