“Resurrection Blues” to be performed in Tehran

TEHRAN,May 13(MNA) -- An Iranian troupe plans to perform American playwright Arthur Miller’s “Resurrection Blues” at the Sayeh Hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex in late May. Davud Daneshvar will direct the play, the complex announced on its website on Sunday. He staged Slawomir Mrozek’s “On Foot” in Tehran four years ago. The members of the cast for play are Daneshvar, Parviz Fallahi, Parisa Moqtadi, Shahriar Rashid-Alipur, Hushang Qavanlu, Reza Emamai and Mojgan Khaleqi. “Resurrection Blues” (2002) is set in an unnamed Latin American country that is painfully third world. The plot revolves around a captured prisoner who may or may not be the second coming of Christ, though Miller deliberately leaves the divinity of his unseen protagonist ambiguous.
