1.2 Thousand Green Jobs To Be Created Thanks To CIliwung Management: Uno

JAKARTA, July 11 (Antara)- Deputy Governor of Jakarta Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has revealed that some 1.2 thousand green jobs will be created thanks to improvement of spatial management along Ciliwung River bank. "I want to forge cooperation with various stakeholders to create jobs. A model like spatial management along Ciliwung River will be able to create 1.2 thousand green jobs," he said in a statement here, Wednesday. He talked about improved spatial management of Ciliwung River bank with Singapore's National Development Minister Desmond Lee in the neighboring state on Tuesday. The management of Ciliwung River bank involved the local communities living along the bank, particularly within the Jakarta area, he said. He was in Singapore to attend the World Cities Summit held on July 8 to 12, 2018. The Summit's theme is "Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Embracing the Future through Innovation and Collaboration". Uno said he learned a lot about the potential and natural resources of Ciliwung River from a presentation on the results of a research carried out by Future Cities Laboratory of Singapore. The 6th World Cities Summit explores how cities can be more liveable and resilient through better governance and planning, technology and social innovations, as well as collaborations with various stakeholders with other cities. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini were also among speakers of the Summit.
