1,614 kg Drugs Seized In Kerman

Kerman, Dec 6, IRNA – Some 1,614 kilograms of morphine were seized Friday in Kerman province, said commander of the provincial police. Brigadier General Hossein Chenarian added that the forces were informed of transfer of a drug cargo from the eastern neighbors to Iraq through Iran. After identifying the route of the smugglers, anti-drug forces became suspicious of a vehicle carrying fuel on Kerman-Zahedan road and stopped it. Inspecting the vehicle, they seized 1,614 kilograms of drugs hidden in the vehicle which was bounded for Bashmaq border in Marivan, Kurdestan province. In addition to 1,614 kilograms of morphine, some 71 kilograms of other narcotics were also confiscated./end
