32nd Healthcare Conference Concludes

Doha, October 07 (QNA) - The 32nd International Conference of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), at the Qatar National Convention Centre concluded Wednesday. The three-day conference, held for the first time in the Middle East since 1996, discussed a set of topics such as improvement of health care, cultural issues, health information systems, patient centered care, patient safety, education and research in quality and safety as well as accreditation, regulation and external evaluation, quality and safety in developing countries and improving population health and its efficiency. The conference was organized under the slogan " Building Quality and Safety into the Healthcare System," with participation of more than 700 healthcare leaders and experts from around the world and 350 working papers were discussed over 250 sessions in addition to 300 research posters in the accompanying exhibition. Dr. Aisha Abdulla Al-Ali, the Head of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation at the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) said that the conference succeeded in achieving its objectives and contributed effectively to providing an opportunity for the healthcare leaders and experts from around the world to communicate exchange of opinions and advice and discuss issues related to the quality of health care. Al-Ali noted that the conference made it possible for those in charge of health sectors to exercise the best international practices in the field of the quality of health care and access to the best innovations and innovative ways to implement quality and patient safety programs. She said that the State of Qatar represented by the SCH has achieved many of the goals by hosting the conference and provide the opportunity for all health practitioners working in Qatar to take advantage and getting acquainted with other countries' experiences in the field of improving the quality of health care as well as to highlight Qatar's significant achievements in providing healthcare for all those living in its territory in line with Qatar's National Health Strategy 2011-2016 and Qatar National Vision 2030.(QNA)
