399 evacuees arrive in Thailand from Libya

BANGKOK, August 10 (TNA) - Three more groups of Thai workers arrived in Thailand from strife-torn Libya today, bringing the total number of Thai evacuees from the Northern African Nation to 399 people, according to the Thai Labour Ministry. Singhadej Chu-amnaj, Director-General of the Ministry’s Department of Employment said a group of 108 workers arrived at Thailand’s Suvanabhumi International Airport at 1 am Sunday, followed by two other groups of 21 and 24 workers at 8 am and 12.45 pm. respectively. Singhadej said some other 405 Thai workers were now waiting to board flights back to Thailand in Tunisia after being moved there from Libya. Singhadej said the Thai workers can apply for financial assistance of 15,000 baht each from the Fund for Assistance to Thai Workers Overseas. (TNA)
