4th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of 7th SWUK Central Committee Held

Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- The 4th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea (SWUK) took place through video conferencing on January 25. Attending it were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the union. Officials of the Central Committee and the provincial, city and county committees of the union were present as observers. The meeting discussed the issues of thoroughly implementing the tasks for the year 2022 of the five-year plan set forth at the 8th Party Congress and the great fighting programme for the Korean-style socialist rural construction, etc. Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the C.C., SWUK, made a report on the agenda items. The reporter analyzed and reviewed in detail the experience and lessons drawn from the union's work in the first year for carrying out the five-year plan and referred to the measures for the union to fully display its might as an ideological and educational organization. She urged the union organizations to fulfill their responsibility and duty in this year's struggle for providing a firm guarantee for the implementation of the new five-year plan. She said that the union organizations in the agricultural field would have to make all their members do every farm work with high patriotic enthusiasm, through the effective education for equipping them with the Party's policy on agriculture. She stressed the need to turn out as one in assisting farming and do more good things helpful to boosting the material and technological foundation for the rural economy. She called for fully demonstrating the militant might of the women's union in the responsible struggle to push ahead with the overall development of Korean-style socialism and glorify this year as a year of great revolutionary auspicious events and fresh victory. Speeches were made at the meeting. The meeting made a study of the draft relevant resolutions before adopting them. -0-
