5 Japanese Injured in Swiss Train Derailment

Geneva, Aug. 13 (Jiji Press)--Eleven people, including five Japanese citizens, were injured when a passenger train was derailed by a landslide in a mountainous region of eastern Switzerland Wednesday. According to the Japanese embassy in Switzerland, one Japanese tourist was seriously hurt and four other Japanese citizens sustained minor injuries. Their injuries were not life-threatening. The landslide near Tiefencastel in the canton of Graubunden derailed three cars of the Rhaetian Railway train, which was travelling between Chur and St. Moritz with about 200 people on board. One car of the train slid about 10 meters down the slope into a ravine but did not fall into its bottom. END
