529.5 grams of marijuana seized, smuggler arrested

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): Customs officers at the Bahrain International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle 529.5 grams of marijuana. Officers searched a foreign passenger on arrival at the airport and seized the haul of drugs which was hidden in his personal clothes in a suitcase. Air Customs director said that the officers got dubious of the suspect and referred him to the red lane where they confiscated the drug. The trafficker was handed over, along with the seized drug, to the Antinarcotics Directorate prior to his referral to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
