56-Member Malaysian Delegation To Attend International Tamil Internet Conference In India

SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia), Sept 15 (Bernama) -- A 56-member strong Malaysian delegation left for India on Sunday to attend the 13th International Tamil Internet Conference at the Pondicherry University from Sept 19 to 21. The delegation comprised computer experts, lecturers, senior government agency officials, teachers, university students and leaders of non-governmental bodies. Chairman of the Malaysian Chapter of the International Forum for Information Technology in Tamil, C.M. Elanttamil, said the Malaysian delegation was the largest group of participants at the conference. He said more than 600 professionals and experts from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka would be participating in the conference which would serve as the best platform to share new information and the latest findings in the internet world. "The internet has become a part of our daily live. As such, the conference will allow us to share the latest information and the latest findings in the world of ICT as well as how they can be used for the benefit of the nation," he told Bernama before departing on Sunday night. He said the conference would discuss various issues including computers and internet learning, open-source software, database and e-commerce, digital libraries, and e-content delivery through various devices. The conference will be opened by the Chief Minister of Pondicherry N. Rangaswamy. --BERNAMA
