60 per cent of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital in completed

Peshawar: Upon directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide support and humanitarian and developmental aid for Pakistan, the Emirati project to assist Pakistan announced the completion of 60 per cent of a US$5 million hospital in Shulam area of South Waziristan, Pakistan. The hospital, named the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital and located in the South of Wazirstan, is funded by the UAE. The Emirati Project to Assist Pakistan management said that working to complete that vital and health project comes in translation for the directives of Sheikh Khalifa, in the light of his keenness to develop infrastructure and improve the medical, health and social aspects of the local populations. The hospital has its special importance, since it is named after H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the Women's General Union, of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. It will also be the latest and first of its kind hospital, which would provide medical services in Wazirstan Area. The Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital in South Waziristan is a 50-bed facility dedicated to the treatment of women, children and the elderly in an area with inadequate health care. The Hospital is built on a 4,330 square-metre plot of land. The population of the area expressed their appreciation and thanks to the U.A.E's humanitarian initiatives towards their country, stressing the Sheikh Fatima bin Mubarak Hospital would be a big qualitative leap for health institutions in the region and province. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
