600,000 pills of methamphetamine worth Bt200 mln seized in Thai North

BANGKOK, May 26 (TNA) – Four Hmong tribesmen have been arrested and 600,000 methamphetamine pills seized in drug burst in Thailand’s northern Chiang Rai province. Police said 60-year-old Lee Sae Ma, a Hmong tribesman and a former member Khiri Ras Sub-district Administration Organisation in Tak province bordering Myanmar was apprehended Sunday along with three other accomplices, all of them also hilltribesmen. They were nabbed while travelling on a highway in the northernmost province of Chiang Rai. Police said they found 600,000 methamphetamine pills, with an estimated street value of 200 million baht, allegedly in their possession. Police seized the pills hidden in two gunny bags and three cars used by the four men. The four have, according to police, confessed that they were promised to pay one million baht by a Hmong tribesman to transport the seized drug from Chiang Rai to Bangkok. (TNA)
