70,000 Titles Of Books Published In Iran Annually

Tabriz, E.Azarbaijan, Sept 30, IRNA – Some 70,000 titles of books on various topics are published in Iran annually, said managing director of Iran’s Cultural Exhibitions Institute on Saturday. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 10th Tabriz International Book Fair, Mohammad Azimi added that to institutionalize the culture of book reading in the country, over 30 provincial book fairs are held by the institution each year. The ongoing Tabriz Book Fair is the 215th provincial book fair organized in the country. He also said that Iran is planning to take part in Frankfurt International Book Fair salted for October 10-14. Some 700 Iranian titles of books on various topics such literature, poetry, Sacred Defense (1980-88), Islamic Awakening and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) personality will be displayed in the Frankfurt fair. The 10th International Book Fair opened in the city’s Permanent Exhibitions Ground on Saturday and will run until October 5. The exhibition is attended by 1,000 publishers who are displaying 110,000 titles of books. Some 20 foreign publishers from Britain, Germany, Russia, France, Turkey, Holland, India, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt are participating in the event with 40,000 titles of books./end
