8th Edition of the QP Environment Fair set to Open Tomorrow at QNCC

Doha, April 22 (QNA) - Qatar Petroleum (QP) will be holding, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of QP, the eighth edition of the QP Environment Fair tomorrow, Wednesday ,April 23 at the Qatar National Convention Center(QNCC). During the four-day event, up to eight QP directorates and departments as well as 29 companies and organizations are set to showcase their environmental initiatives at the event. "This years QP Environment Fair will provide true opportunity for participants and visitors to view new features that highlight the wide range of environmental programs and activities currently being implemented by QP and by many other companies and organizations," said Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Obaidli, Public Relations and Communication Manager of QP, in a press release issued here Tuesday. First launched in 2004, the QP Environment Fair 2014 is organized by QPs Public Relations and Communications Department, and the theme of this years event is "Use of Water in the Oil and Gas Industry" A large number of QP subsidiaries and joint ventures will also be taking part in the event. These include Dolphin Energy Limited, Oryx GTL, Qatalum , Qatar Chemical Company Limited (Q-Chem), Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO(, Qatar Fuel (WOQOD), Qatar Fuel Additives Company Ltd. (QAFAC), Qatar Petrochemical Company Ltd. (QAPCO), Qatargas Operating Company(Qatar Gas), Ras Gas Company Limited,, Seef Limited , Qatar Steel, and Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC). In addition, the QP Environment Fair 2014 will also feature the exhibition stands of many industry stakeholders, such as ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil Qatar Inc., Maersk Oil Qatar AS, Occidental Petroleum (OXY), Qatar Petroleum Development Company Ltd. (QPD), Qatar Shell, and TOTAL E&P Qatar. Other exhibitors include government entities such as the Ministry of Environment and Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa); members of the Qatar Foundation, namely the Qatar Energy and Environment Research Institute (QEERI) , the Environmental Studies Centre of Qatar University; the Friends of the Environment Center (FEC), and Children's Literature Center In addition to the exhibition, this years edition of the QP Environment Fair will also feature a wide range of entertaining and educational activities for students and for the whole family. Among the scheduled activities are the plays "The Lost Treasure" and "Tarsheed," which will be presented by Sasol and Kahramaa, respectively. There will also be technical presentations revolving around the theme of the event on April 23 and 24. The exhibition will be open to the general public, and about 30 schools in Qatar have already accepted an invitation to bring all their students to the event. The total of number of students to visit the fair is expected to exceed one thousand. The exhibition timings will be from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, then from 4:00 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday 23 April, and from 7:30 am to 1 pm, then from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday and Saturday, and from 2 pm to 7 pm on Friday 26 April.(QNA)
