91st OAPEC Meeting Opens in Doha

Doha, December 21 (QNA) - The 91st meeting Council of Ministers of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) opened here today to review the latest developments of the oil markets and to discuss other topics on its agenda . Addressing the meeting , HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada said : "The 90th ministerial meeting today comes amid several global, regional developments and changes and also comes in the wake of important international meetings such as the OPEC ministerial meeting which kept the ceiling of oil production to maintain the stability of the market, as well as the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which was held in Warsaw a few weeks ago, which are on our agenda today . " HE Dr. Al Sada highlighted important role played by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries in order to enhance Arab cooperation in various fields of energy, specifically in the field of fossil energy that will remain the focus of attention, and will be approximately 80 percent of the global mix energy by 2035, and this confirms the importance of our joint action to ensure the stability of the markets in the coming stages and ensure the stability of our people and our countries, he added. For his part, Secretary General of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), Abbas Ali Al-Naqi said the meeting today is to review among other topics, the financial and operational results during 2013, in addition to honoring the winners (OAPEC) Scientific award for 2012, which is organized every two years, and specializes in scientific research in the industries of petroleum and energy. The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, which was founded in 1968 and headquartered in Kuwait, aimed at enhancing cooperation among its members in various aspects of economic activity in the petroleum industry.
