AA to make voice of Balkans be heard in world, director general says

SARAJEVO (A.A) - March 11, 2012 - Anadolu Agency (AA) Director General and Executive Board Chairman Kemal Ozturk said that AA would make voice of Balkans be heard in the world. Anadolu Agency (AA) opened Balkans Regional Directorate Office in Sarajevo on Sunday. The office based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, started to broadcast news stories in Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian as of Sunday. Bakir Izzetbegovich, head of the Presidential Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and AA Director General Kemal Ozturk attended the inauguration of the regional office of AA. Delivering a speech in the inauguration, Ozturk said that they decided to open Balkans Regional Directorate in Sarajevo within the scope of AA's 100th anniversary vision. Ozturk said AA would make voice of Balkans be heard in the world and news stories from the world be heard in Balkans. "We will contribute to peace, tranquility and friendship," he said. Ozturk said that AA was founded by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Founder of the Republic of Turkey, in 1920 to make voice of Turkey be heard in the world. Stating that they prepared a project titled "AA's 100th anniversary vision", he said that according to the project, AA would broadcast news stories in 11 languages. Bosnian was one of these languages, he said. Today was a turning point in AA's history, he underlined. Ozturk said that they aimed to make AA one of the most prominent five news agencies in the world. (EÖ)
