Abadi Discusses, In A Telephone Call, With French President Holding A Conference To Support Iraq

BAGHDAD / NINA / Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abadi discussed, in a telephone conversation, with French President Francois Hollande holding a conference to support Iraq. A statement by the Information Office of the Prime Minister said that "Dr. Abadi received a phone call from Holland, congratulating him on the occasion of the formation of the government and gaining the confidence of the House of Representatives, saying that forming the government is very important and will contribute to success the conference to support Iraq. During the call, according to the statement, they discussed holding the conference and its impact in mobilizing international support for Iraq in the fight against the Islamic State in addition to the political and security situation in Iraq and the region. Dr. Abadi expressed his thanks to the French President on his congratulations, noting that the formation of the new government will help to eliminate terrorism. French President Hollande, according to the statement, expressed his country's readiness to continue to help Iraq in the humanitarian and military fields. Hollande called on Abadi to attend the conference of supporting Iraq, noting that the presence of Dr. Abadi, is referring to the unity of Iraqis and the success of the conference. / End
