About 10,000 Cambodian workers cross border to resume work after long holiday

SA KAEO, April 19 (TNA) - Some 10,000 Cambodian workers on Sunday crossed the Thai-Cambodian border in Aranyaprathet district to resume working tomorrow after returning to their country for family reunion during Songkran New Year festival. Thai customs, police and army personnel manning the border checkpoint at the district had to work very hard in checking the workers’ travelling documents as well as their work permits issued by the Thai Labour Ministry . Officials said the screening in details was meant to prevent illegal entry, human trafficking and drug smuggling. Thai officials also inspected passenger van service at Rong Klua Market in Aranyaprathet district to prevent overloading of passengers and overcharging of fares. (TNA)
