About 200 THAI pilots resign over past 5 years

BANGKOK, August 25 (TNA) - The management of Thai Airways International (THAI) says that about 200 pilots have resigned from the national airline over the past five years. Acting THAI President Air Chief Marshal Siwakiat Chayema acknowledged on Monday that 200 THAI pilots have moved to other airlines over the past five years, usually 30-40 yearly. Air Chief Marshal Siwakiat explained that the resignation of THAI pilots resulted from the inauguration of new airlines and the pilots have their right to choose satisfactory remuneration. The acting THAI president insisted that the resignation of 30-40 pilots this year is considered normal and will not affect THAI's aviation services and future plans, as the national flag carrier is producing pilot replacements.
